The sirloin tip roast (also called as round tip roast) is a cut of beef taken from the hindquarters, which is close to the sirloin and rib roast. However, because it is a lean cut, the sirloin tip roast can be rough and should be cooked in a braising or stewing liquid to soften. The sirloin tip roast may also be used for kebabs or slow-roasted in the oven at a low temperature for a variety of dishes.
Although less tender than top sirloin or loin roast, the beef round tip roast may be rather excellent and is appropriate for dry roasting. However, if overdone, the beef round tip roast can become dry and should be cut thinly to avoid this.
